Anthony (age 10) and Adrian (age 6) are wonderful, good-hearted brothers who truly
long for a forever family. Belonging to a family after so many years in limbo and
feeling securely attached will grant these brothers the opportunity to exhibit their
full potential, the discovery of which is bound to be a joyful and rewarding journey
for the adoptive family blessed enough to witness it.
The boys share a bedroom and spend the first half hour of their day before their alarm even goes off talking quietly and sweetly to each other. Each has been the only constant in the life of the other, and even though they have the usual sibling squabbles, they are deeply connected and find safety and security in each other’s presence. Both boys love to ride their bike, play basketball, romp around a local playground, and battle each other at Wii games.
Anthony has always assumed responsibility for Adrian, and therefore has a difficult time allowing himself to just be a kid. Adrian takes his safety cues from his big brother, and as long as Anthony seems okay, he has no trouble being as carefree and childlike as any kid his age.
In their young lives, Anthony and Adrian have experienced significant loss, grief, and trauma. It will be helpful for the boys’ adoptive family to have a good grasp of how early neglect can impact a child’s sense of well-being, ability to trust, and emotional and behavioral development. Due to the children needing tons of parental time and attention, it would be ideal if they are the only children in the home, or the youngest of a much older child. Most importantly, however, their adoptive family simply needs to be committed to them, especially through any rough days, knowing that a disrupted adoption at their ages would certainly be catastrophic for their ability to trust and attach to any future caregiver.

Kevi’ontae, who prefers to be called “Kevin”, may be only 8 years old, but he would welcome a challenge on the basketball court to almost anyone, young or old. He has a natural athleticism that is nothing short of enviable. Often referred to as the fastest kid in his PE class, give this boy a basketball, baseball bat, football or tennis racket and he will surely master the sport in no time all. His energy doesn’t stop at these sports; he also loves to ride his bike, run around and play outside; or he will spend hours challenging a friend at video games. It is safe to say, energy is not something Kevin is lacking!
The larger the family, the larger the love, right? That is absolutely right when it comes to this sibling group of five. Watch out, this sibling group is easy to fall in love with! Each child has their own unique and charming personality. There is imaginative and creative Jose, bashful and feminine Maria, the always smiling Miguel, the quiet and reserved Alejandro, and adorable and affectionate Cristino. All five children are very connected to their culture and to the church. It will be important for a family to honor and continue these past traditions. The children would prefer either a bilingual family or a family that would be willing to learn some Spanish. The children are all very excited to meet their new family.
